A major learning experience!!! I baked most of a wedding cake for my niece and took it to Port Townsend Washington this weekend. I frosted it, covered it with fondant, and decorated it there. But oh my gosh; the humidity. Here at home we have many days with less than 5% humidity. While we were there the owner of the cottage we stayed in said that the humidity was 65%+ during the weekend. At home I hurrry with the fondant because it dries out. There it was wet and sticky to the touch all the time. "How does Duff do it?" I think to myself. I have a few ideas if I ever do that again.
Busy summer but it's gone already. Still 7 or 8 cakes between now and the end of September. Everybody is doing fall weddings this year it seems.
